This work evolved from the Symposium ‚Why this World‘ to which I was invited. The title comes from the writings of Clarice Lispector (1920-77). Her texts have been an inspiration and source for conversations during the two week Symposium with Adam Budak as curator. - I have brought together two different productions: on the one hand that of the gallery owner, who is also owner of a supermarket chain and who had arranged the Symposium, with on the other hand that of art. ‚Equation of Loss‘ is a disposal of identical objects coming from the storage space of the company: 2 cash treadmill, 2 lift doors, 2 lattice wall pieces, and some empty cash register rolls. - If there is a resolution of the equation, it is the absence of goods and numbers which results in a new potential.
